Boyne Valley Trails launches “Trails and Tides” weekend for June Bank Holiday weekend.
The Boyne Valley Trails group is pleased to announce the inaugural "Trails and Tides," taking place from 30th May to 1st June. This curated series of events invites visitors a unique opportunity to explore the rich heritage and natural beauty of the Boyne Valley through guided hikes, walking tours, mindfulness sessions and river-based water activities.

“We want to invite Drogheda locals and visitors alike to explore Drogheda and its surrounding areas” says Dusty Flanagan, spokesperson for the Boyne Valley Trails group. “This June Bank Holiday weekend is the perfect opportunity to become a tourist in your hometown and explore what the area has to offer. For visitors, this is their opportunity to delve into the area’s history, mythology and nature on a truly unique tourism experience guided by passionate locals.”

The Boyne Valley Trails group has been growing in recent years adding more local activity providers to their ranks, expanding their offering into the greater Boyne Valley region as well as developing an annual festival which takes place in September. Many of their most popular tours are available to book all year round, all guided by local, passionate and expert guides. This June Bank Holiday, the group are introducing a series of new experiences, including taking to the water in both a Boyne mythology kayaking trail, a collaboration between Boyne Voyage and Mythical Ireland and a paddleboarding session on the River Nanny, led by Fourshores Adventures.

“The ‘Trails and Tides’ weekend is about more than just guided tours, it is about connecting residents and visitors with the historical and mythological significance of the Boyne River, Drogheda and surrounding areas. It’s about inviting you to explore with us, discover something unique and have a little adventure along the way. Beginners are welcome as we will have trails and excursions suitable for all levels.”
