After a successful summer in 2023, the Family Fun Events-Street Activation Project returned to West Street for summer 2023.
From May to July, on selected Saturday afternoons, children and their families were treated to a series of colourful and delighting free family fun, including character mascots, superheroes, Toy Story characters, balloon modellers, facepainters, stiltwalkers and much more.
Taking place between 12pm and 4pm on Saturday afternoons, this street activation project aimed at increasing dwell time in Drogheda's retail centre, while providing a fun and engaging place for parents and children to spend their Saturday afternoons.
The project would not have been possible without the kind support of Canon Eugene Sweeney and the staff at St Peters West Street, and we thank them wholeheartedly for their support. Thank you also to the Board of Directors, the Droichead Arts Centre, Drogheda Library, the Gardaí, Cathal Thorton for his assistance and all the performers who took part in this project.
