On Friday, 22 August, once again three popular local cafés – The Coffee Box, Il Forno, and The Bare Food Café – will stay open late into the night as part of Night Moves, an innovative late night cultural programme led and produced by Droichead Arts Centre, curated by singer/songwriter, SJ McArdle and other collaborators such as SPIRAL in association with Drogheda’s Night-Time Economy Adviser and supported by the Drogheda Purple Flag group.
Each venue will host a free, curated evening of live music, food and good conversation – creating welcoming, relaxed spaces where people can enjoy the town in a different way. These cafés are championing a more diverse night-time offer and helping trial what a more balanced evening economy might look like. We are taking bookings on our website for our late-night cafes, but we also encourage audiences to drop in on the night!
This time round artists include composer, instrumentalist, bandleader and one of the foremost session guitarists in the country Tadhg Leahy accompanied by Stephen Carolan; genre-blending Irish duo Negro Impacto who bring fresh energy to alternative R&B with soulful vocals, and a night of punk funk, garage rock anthem, prog and dub reggae brought to you by local vinyl Flower Power, and Spiral producers, Jaz Hastings and Kelly Hoyne.
