We are pleased to announce that we are opening applications for their popular Flower Grant Initiative for 2026, aimed at adding to the floral displays installed by Louth County Council at street level and enhancing the overall attractiveness of the town centre.
Launching the initiative for 2026 Love Drogheda BID Chairperson, Sarah Taaffe said; “We are delighted to once again open applications for the Flower Grant initiative for 2026. Flowers installed around the town centre bring such vibrancy and cheer and their importance in creating a welcoming town for our visitors cannot be overstated. Love Drogheda BID is excited to once again partner with our ratepayers on this project, which in previous years has brough an additional 100 floral installations to Drogheda each spring, and the displays remain in place all summer. This project, along with many others, is part of Love Drogheda BIDs commitment to enhancing our public spaces and making Drogheda an attractive place to spend time in.”
CEO, Trevor Connolly stated further; “The Flower Grant Initiative has seen an investment by Love Drogheda BID of over €30,000 in the last number of years and is one of the most popular initiatives that the BID rolls out every year. We get upwards of 40 businesses applying for the grant each year, so the advice is to get your applications in as early as possible. We are looking forward to partnering with our members on this initiative again and look forward seeing the flowers, trees and plants in place all throughout Drogheda for the summer.”

The Flower Grant Initiative operates on a shared funding model where the BID contributed per window box or hanging basket and the ratepayer contributes the balance. With most businesses installing two or more stunning floral displays, the Flower Grant adds over 100 additional floral displays to Drogheda. With the appearance of Drogheda being paramount to the success of the businesses in the BID area, Love Drogheda BID will continue to invest in projects such as this Flower Grant, among others, that aim to ensure the town puts its best foot forward.
