Drogheda Port Co. has once again shown its commitment to supporting the local economy by choosing the Love Drogheda Gift Card as a Christmas reward for its employees this year. The Love Drogheda Gift Card, a multi-store, town-wide shop local initiative, can be spent in over 230 local businesses, from well-known national retailers to much-loved independent stores.
Since its launch, the Love Drogheda Gift Card has retained over €740,000 in the local economy, helping to strengthen local businesses and maintain jobs within the community.

The Love Drogheda Gift Card program offers an easy, impactful way for businesses to support local businesses, and it also provides a financial incentive for the businesses that choose it as part of their staff rewards. Under the Small Benefit Exemption Scheme, employers can reward each staff member with up to €1,500 per year in non-cash benefits, tax-free. Using the Love Drogheda Gift Card as part of staff rewards allows companies to recognise employees in a way that benefits both their team and the wider local community.
