13 completed in 2025, 17 buildings completed in 2026, with a further nine confirmed and funding allocated for 2027.
The Love Drogheda BID supported Facades Project is continuing to help transform the appearance of the town, with 17 buildings revitalised so far in 2026 and a further nine properties confirmed, with budget allocated for their improvement. The project is bringing fresh colour, renewed pride and a growing sense of positivity to Drogheda, demonstrating the difference that businesses, property owners and local partners can make by working together.
Through its partnerships with DHS Complete Hire, Murtagh’s of Drogheda and Fleetwood Paints, Love Drogheda BID provides partial funding and practical support to encourage property owners to revitalise their facades. The commitment and investment of participating owners have been central to the programme’s success.
The project is also complemented by Louth County Council’s annual Shop Front Improvement Grant, which helps reduce the financial burden on property owners and encourages the ongoing maintenance and improvement of town centre frontages.

Sarah Taaffe, Chairperson of Love Drogheda BID, said, “This project is a practical example of the positive change that collaboration can deliver for our town. Behind every completed facade is a property owner willing to invest, partners willing to support them and a shared commitment to making Drogheda look and feel better. This project really helps to improve and lift the overall town presentation, and we are delighted to work with our members to help facilitate this change. Each positive project delivered helps build momentum for Drogheda and we are proud to play our part.
“With 17 buildings completed this year and supporting improvements for another nine confirmed, we are building real momentum. On behalf of the BID Board, I want to thank everyone involved including our CEO, Trevor, and Kelly in our office for helping to create a more attractive and welcoming town centre for businesses, residents and visitors.”

Barry Murtagh, owner of Murtaghs of Drogheda, said, “As a local business, we are proud to support a project that is making such a visible difference to Drogheda. A refreshed facade can lift an entire street, and it has been wonderful to see property owners taking pride in their buildings and inspiring others to do the same.
“The success of this programme shows what can be achieved when local businesses and property owners work together. We are delighted to play our part alongside Love Drogheda BID and the other project partners.”
Trevor Connolly, CEO of Love Drogheda BID, said, “The response to this project has been hugely positive. Each completed building makes a difference in its own right, but the collective impact is what really stands out when you start seeing improvements on a street by street level. More and more property owners are taking a fresh look at their buildings, getting in contact with our team and considering what they can do.
“We are delighted to have supported the improvement of 17 buildings this year. This progress reflects the commitment of our property owners and the tremendous support of DHS Complete Hire, Murtaghs of Drogheda, Fleetwood paints and the excellent painting contractors, alongside the complementary grant support provided by Louth County Council.”
