The proponents of LOVEDROGHEDA believe that the future prosperity and well being of Drogheda City is very much dependent on the ability of its people to work together. Many of the projects we are proposing are dependent on groups of people in Drogheda coming together and collaborating.

It is a proven fact that towns and cities that collaborate, are economically and socially vibrant, attract inward investment and funding, are progressive and places that people want to make home.

Many of the projects proposed will involve the BID company and rate payers working together with many organisations in Drogheda and collaborating to make the projects happen. This means conducting business in a positive, respectful and constructive manner.

Gaining Purple Flag status has been one of Love Drogheda BIDS top priorities since its inception. The Purple Flag is the gold standard for night-time economy and is awarded to towns in recognition of the quality of its evening and night-time economy. The Purple Flag assessors investigate areas such as vibrancy, variety, uniqueness, safety in how people travel home after a night out as well as how the evening and night-time community in a town works together. Drogheda was first awarded the Purple Flag in 2019 and we are thrilled to say that it has been renewed in 2021 and 2022.

For 2022, our hope is to further develop the evening and night-time offerings in Drogheda, and we will work closely with the Drogheda Implementation Board and the Garda as well as local businesses and groups to ensure that Drogheda remains a safe and exciting location for evening and night-time activities. We will also look at renewing the Purple Flag team in 2022.
